Srilanka would like to win 5th ODI against India

Ind vs SL update

India has begun their new season a winning note and has once again proved that they are the best team in the Indian sub continent. India defeated Srilanka and Pakistan in the Asia Cup but an unfortunate loss against Bangladesh cost them a place in the finals. Pakistan failed to succeed in Srilanka but India did. India has already clinched the ODI series and today is the last ODI which is a mere formality now.

India must not take this ODI lightly as a win of 4-1 would mean much more than a series win with a margin of 3-2. India has produced a good all round performance with even the bowling improving in last ODI. Plus good form of Gambhir, Kohli and Raina has been a bonus for the team. Irfan Pathan has produced a splendid all round performance. Dhoni, as usual has been Mr. Perfect in his captaincy. Sehwag scored a good 96 runs innings in the first ODI. After that he has provided good starts but he couldn't capitalise to go on and score big.

Sri Lanka on the other hand has lacked confidence. They have performed well but in bits and parts. Plus the loss of Sangakarra due to injury is the biggest shortcoming as he has been the most profilic ODI scorer in 2012.Dilshan can destroy any bowling line up in the world but he has miserably failed in this series. Jayawardene has scored well but he lacked consistency. Overall the team needs to be consistent and a win here would be a consolation for them.

With a T20 match in the reckoning and even ICC T20 world cup to begn very soon, it is natural that both the teams would not take this match lightly.
